This first camping spot in Selangor is a beautiful place surrounded by greens and water. 

I featured this location as it is unique amongst other camping site in Selangor – there are specialized Gurus to teach you survival skills!

They provide hands-on experience in “the wild” itself and you will learn how to light fire, rope-tying, cooking on fire – basically a great place for beginner campers.

A private campsite in Selangor, RumahKebun sits on two and a half acres of land just outside Kuala Lumpur. It boasts 4 fully furnished sleeping quarters in the villa, able to host up to 16 people which is perfect for a family or friends gathering. 

If you would rather pitch a tent, RumahKebun also has a camping ground that can fit up to 8 tents. They do provide tent rentals though if you don’t have your own equipment.

The third best camping site in Selangor is Moonkissed By The River. Located in a hidden corner of the Semungki River, this campsite is a good option for “glamping”. Yes – camping with a touch of glamor! There is a 24-hour cafe and fire pits for a barbeque party.

There are treetop viewings by the river and the night stars are one of the most dazzling views from the city.

Set in the MAEPS Serdang campus, this campsite hosts a range of outdoor activities such as kayaking, archery, bushcraft activities, green conservation project, catch and release fishing, and hiking to the peak and waterfall of the Agrotourism park.

On occasions, they host kayaking races and treasure hunts so be on the lookout for those on their website.

I particularly like this campsite because it’s located inside a family-owned fruit orchard! Dusun is Malay for orchard and Bonda is mother, hence this is one of the few private campsites in Selangor.

This camping site in Selangor is also a glamping site, so expect comfort and nature combined with sweet juicy fresh fruit at your disposal! It offers kid-friendly activities and a hot spring bath so there is something for everyone.

Surrounded by the beautiful hills of Ulu Langat, this campsite in Selangor has two ponds and its own orchard. Choose from an array of activities offered including trying your hand at rubber tapping (!), kayaking, cycling, and barbecuing with friends and family.

Another campsite near Sungai Congkak, this one is an all time local favorite and a popular go to camping site in Selangor. Everyone who is a novice camper starts here as it is very affordable, fully fitted out facilities like restrooms, barbeque pits and gazebos.

17. Sungai Chiling Waterfall

Sungai Chiling Waterfall is one of the 3 Kuala Kubu Bharu camping sites that I have listed here. Kuala Kubu Bharu is known for its landscape, as there are mini “Niagara Falls” waterfalls which is the perfect spot for picnics and camping.

Sungai Chiling specifically has 3 separate vertical waterfalls, and the third and highest base is the perfect base to set up your campsite.

18. Kuala Selangor Nature Park

The Kuala Selangor camping site is one of the most sought after locations. Situated at the mouth of the Kuala Selangor river surrounded by the mangrove forest, it’s no wonder it’s ranked one of the best camping sites in Selangor.

With a total area of 296 hectares, consisting of 2 main areas; the tropical rainforest and the swamp forest – you get the best of both worlds. Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy the 4 different trails to view the wildlife.

19. Suara Rimba Chalet

This site is quite suitable for those who may not be a full outdoor wilderness person. Located alongside a peaceful river, the accommodation is in the form of a chalet which is comfortable enough with basic amenities. 

Start here if you’d like to have a small taste of camping!

Located just off the Karak highway in the city of Kuala Lumpur, it’s located within a century old forest. There are 2 routes to hike up, one takes you to the camping grounds and the other to the waterfall base.

Expect to tread in waters and rocky surfaces so pack light. The camping site in Selangor is quite small, limited to around 10 medium sized tents, so get there early to avoid disappointment.

The 3rd campsite in Kuala Kubu Bharu is the Wind Valley campsite site, which is within a charming little farm. Reviews have been great on how well kept and clean the facilities are. Activities here range from archery, fishing in the local pond and barbeque pits for cooking.

Local tip: Zone 7 is nearest to the bathroom and can be noisy during the night. Zone 8 grounds are in the orchard which gives more privacy. Do check to see if the floating platform is available for rent as you will be in the middle of the lake!
