Their cakes come in a big portion which can be shared among 3-4 people per piece and is definitely worth the price you are paying. For salted egg lovers, this cake shop is also famous for its salted egg cake!

The firm exterior texture and the creamy cheese in the middle is so good that it literally melts in your mouth.

Perfectly layered with Grand Marnier liqueur and dusted with cocoa powder. Unfortunately it is non-halal. 

Paris-Bret (Priced at RM15 / $3.55)

A French based pastry that is newly added into the menu. It is a large ring shaped choux pastry that is cut in half and stuffed in between with crisp almond and praline flavoured softly whipped cream.

A small hidden cafe is located at Queens Street. One of the best cake shops in Penang Island. You might miss out on the cafe if you don’t pay attention. The cafe is painted with pink color and gives out a lovely and warm ambiance. PIK NIK cafe is a perfect brunch spot started in the year 2011 has been one of the pioneer cafes in Penang Island.

They have a few varieties of waffles available on their menu. We tried the Miss Strawberry and trust me it was one of the best waffles we have tried! When you are there dont forget to pair it with their amazing hot chocolate!

10. Ng Kee Cake Shop

Ng Kee Cake shop in Penang is over a hundred and twenty years old, run by 3 generations. Mooncakes are famous during the Mid Autumn Festival and this cake shop in Penang Island has authentic handmade mooncakes. 

Head out there and make sure to try their amazing mooncakes and don’t forget to buy some of their traditional biscuits too!

Matcha Lovers here is a dessert shop for you. They have a variety of Matcha desserts to try on. The tropical decoration of the cafe is a picture-perfect spot.

This cafe is an Instagram worthy cafe. Looking for a small private event space, then this is the place to go.

This is a special cake in their menu.The sweet taste of the melon placed in between the cake with fresh cream is just something you should try. You can order it in slices or a whole cake.

Tofu Cheesecake (Priced at RM17.90 / $ 4.25) 

The smooth and creamy tofu cheesecake just melted in our mouth. Don’t miss out!

14. Kopi Hutan

A place to visit when you visit Penang Hill. Looking for a cafe away from the city this cafe is placed inside a jungle. You can enjoy nature while sipping the coffee along with their cakes.

They have a variety of cakes, we tried their tiramisu cake and paired it with their signature kopi hutan. We loved the combination while enjoying the fresh clean air.

15. Rainforest Bakery

Rainforest bakery is one of the best bakeries in Penang. They specialize in freshly made pastries. You can smell the amazing smell of freshly baked bread lingering in the air once you walk into the cafe.

One of our favourite pastry shops in Penang. The ambience there is set to fit the French pastry shop. The pastries are freshly made and you can watch them while enjoying your food. 

Croissant (Priced at RM7.00 / $1.66)

We would say they have one of the best croissants.Freshly handmade and just tastes wonderful.

Scones

We always pack a few extra scones with us just in case we start craving for their scone. Don’t forget to try them while you are in Penang
