Guntu is by far my favourite Ryokan! Its concept and originality blew my mind away.
It is actually a floating Ryokan on the Seto Inland Sea. This Ryokan is built as a luxury boutique cruise, with 19 amazing cabins on board for guests to stay in.
When I first saw it, I thought that this ryokan with private onsen Japan was beautifully designed and built, and the idea of soaking in a while admiring the scenery of Setouchi goes beyond the standard onsen experience.
You’ll be unwinding in your own private onsen on a journey across the sea!
It’s definitely all about letting go and living in the present, appreciating the calmness and tranquility of the surroundings.
How To Go There
Make your way to Hiroshima Airport or JR Fukuyama Station. From there, you can have a car service to go to Bella Vista Marina. Contact the hotel for further information.

Take the train from Tokyo/Shin Osaka Station to Atami Station [Shinkansen]. From Atami station, it is 5 minutes by bus, or you can easily walk to the hotel.

Bessho Sasa is another favorite of mine is located near Mt. Fuji and is the best Ryokan with private onsen in the area.
This Ryokan is a popular choice amongst tourists thanks to its beautiful scenery across all four seasons.
Just imagine the different shades of colors during autumn, the view of Mt Fuji with a blanket of white snow during winter, or the cherry flowers in bloom during spring!
The scenery itself will make your whole trip to Japan memorable.
All of the rooms have a private outdoor onsen. Therefore, it is a suitable choice for couples, families, and people with tattoos.
You can relax in peace while admiring the fantastic day and night view of Mount Fuji.
How To Go There
You can easily take a bus from Shinjuku Tokyo to Fujisan Station ( 120 minutes). This would be the best and fastest way.
If you opt to go by train, from Shinjuku Station, take the Main Line-Tokkyu (express) to Otsuki Station (60 minutes). Then, change to Fujikyuko Line in the direction of Fujisan Station (50 minutes).
From Nagoya or Shin Osaka Station, you can hop on the Tokaido Shinkansen towards Mishima Station. Once you’ve arrived at Mishima Station, board the Fujikyuko bus to Fujisan Station.
A shuttle bus runs to and from the hotel from Fujiyoshida Station. Call the hotel in advance to arrange transport.

From Osaka, you can hop on the Shinkansen HIKARI-KODAMA to Mishima Station. Change to Izu-Hakone railway and head to Shuzenji Station. Once you’ve arrived, take the Tokai Bus to Yugashima Onsen Iriguchi Bus Stop.
From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to the Ryokan.

This Ryokan private onsen Hakone will give you a unique experience with a clear view of Mount Fuji. But first, in order for you to get to Hotel Green Plaza Hakone, you will need to take the cable car or ropeway and travel through the woods!
When you get there, have a good soak in Sengokuhara Hot Spring, one of Hakone’s 17 hot springs. The onsen will help you relax and unwind after a long, tiring trip.
Most of the rooms have their own private outdoor bath with natural hot spring water. So, you’ll be able to relax on your own onsen and have a good view of Mount Fuji right from the deck.
In some rooms, only boiling water is provided in the hot tub and not the natural hot spring water.
So make sure you choose the right room to stay in so you can get all the hot spring benefits.

Bus from Shinjuku:
1. Busta Shinjuku (Busta Shinjuku 4F B4 bus stop) -> HAKONE (Odakyu Express Bus – 120 minutes)
Access by train is not possible. You’ll need to make your way to HAKONE Tozan Railway and hop on the HAKONE Ropeway (Hakone Ropeway Round Trip Ticket) there to Ubako Station. The hotel is 3 minutes away.
