19. Gunung Lambak

Unlike other animal shelters, this place does not constraint the animals to a particular area. Instead, they can roam freely on a 10-acre size land. Noah’s Ark is also a massive advocate of no-kill policy.

One box of the banana cake costs RM10 ($2.50) while one pack of buns costs around RM4-RM5 (around $1.00).

Pro tip: Come early to avoid a long queue and missing out on the yummy banana cake. It is usually sold out by 10:00 a.m.

40. Bukit Serene Palace

Although you can’t enter the palace, you can visit their grand and well-manicured gardens and water fountain outside the palace. If you drop by the place at night, you will be treated with an impressive night view from the light decorating the gardens and surroundings.

Unique Tips You Should Know When Visiting JB, Malaysia

  • Johor Chingay Street Parade, recognised as a National Cultural Heritage, is one of the most anticipated events. The Chingay is an annual event that celebrates the birthdays of each of the five Chinese clans’ Chinese deities and signifies the end of Chinese New Year (on the night of the 18th day of the Lunar New Year). 

The deities will be mounted onto sedans and carried around a predetermined route around Johor Bahru. The Chinese community believes that this parade will bring them luck, prosperity, good health and harmony throughout the year. 

During the procession, you will see many other traditional Chinese cultural activities such as lion dance, dragon dance, giant flashy floats and huge waving flags. This event draws nearly 400,000 visitors and participants with national and foreign live TV coverage.

Four years later, in 2016, he won another bid for the highly coveted car number plate ‘V 1’ for a price close to one million ringgit, equivalent to close to $250,000!
