The Mehendi or Henna ceremony is one of the most important functions where the bride and groom, and the women in their families get detailed designs done on their hands with henna. Guests can also get henna tattoos on their hands.

A palazzo set is an elegant but comfy option for the Mehendi ceremony. With a Kurti top and wider bottom pants (palazzo), it allows for movement so you can shake a leg too!

Indian women tend to select the complete set of a necklace, matching earrings, and mangtika that go with their outfits. However, you can also mix and match or go for a necklace with jhumkas (danglers or hoop earrings) and skip the mangtika.

- Avoid wearing a red colored lehenga or saree, especially at the wedding ceremony as red is traditionally worn by the bride.
- Choose conservative outfits that aren’t too revealing, expose your shoulders, or rest above the knee.
- Casual outfits like jeans or trousers with tees are an absolute no-no at Indian weddings. You can opt for a fusion palazzo with a kurti or a co-ord set if you don’t want to go the traditional route.
- Carry a shawl/scarf/dupatta to cover your head if the wedding ceremony is at a temple.
Dos and Don’ts At Indian Weddings
1. Avoid black or white colored dresses at any function. You can wear red-colored outfits at other events except for the wedding ceremony.
2. Dress modestly in traditional Indian or Indo-Western fusion wear. Avoid wearing above-the-knee, casual, or revealing dresses.
3. Accessorize your outfit with jewelry, bangles, and a Bindi.
